The No. 5 shutter is widely used on industrial
and commercial equipment. It has the latest mechanism and its dimensions are square with a
large center opening...and is especially adaptable for cameras with a small front board.
Simply constructed with few working parts, its action is fast, easy and smooth...without
noise or vibration. Ruggedly constructed and finished in non-chip black matte with black
matte opaque wings, and improved heavy-duty brass bushings. Available in same sizes as No.
6 model.
The New Improved Packard-Ideal Shutter no. 6 For Time And Instantaneous Exposures
The new No. 6 shutter for timed or
instantaneous exposures is very fast . . . smooth and silent at 1/25 second under
continuous hard use. Designed with the dependable Packard-Ideal mechanics, it has a very
large opening centered in a square compact case. Especially adaptable to cameras with a
small front board. Three wings of rigid black matte opaque material are light-tight at all
times...absolutely noiseless and vibrationless (so important for time exposures). The
model No. 6 is changed from time to instantaneous exposures by simply pushing in a small
pin on the outside of the shutter to engage the built-in synchronizer. Requires no
setting...works automatically, setting itself after each exposure...positive action for
instantaneous exposures. The various shutter speeds may also be manually controlled with
the bulb...one press fully opens the shutter and closes it four times as fast.
Larger sized Packard-Ideal shutters are widely used for studio work...especially for babies, children or groups where faster exposures are needed to "freeze" movement. Ideally suited for large, fast lenses that require the accuracy of instantaneous exposures. All Packard-Ideal Shutters are constructed to highest standards and experience accumulated from many years of service to the photo industry. Newly improved heavy brass bushings, the original and dependable black matte wings, rugged metal construction with chip-proof black matte finish. Available in standard opening sizes from 1½" to 3½"; custom opening sizes up to 8".
The New Improved Packard-Ideal Electric Shutters no. 5
Packard-Ideal Electric Shutters are made of
steel or aluminum cases. Blades may be either black matte plastic, steel, or black
anodized aluminum. The range of sizes for Electric Shutters is the same as regular
shutters. Standard models operate on 120 volt AC, rectified to DC. Solenoids used will
depend on use, they may be of continuous heavy-duty construction or intermittent type.
Most models except very small, may have synchro-switch installed. Installation may be
vertical or horizontal. Electric Shutters are widely used for copy cameras, enlargers,
projectors, etc. All Packard-Ideal Electric Shutters are custom made to customer's
specifications.
